PURE METAL SHELL –
At the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the third millennium, Stone Island turned the focus of its research to metals, creating two parkas, made for the first time in 100% steel and a 100% bronze metal mesh, and bonding them to a textile base.

01 CONCEPT
Metal mesh is a living material with features of metallic materials when used untreated, making it subject to oxidation over time, losing its shine. The worn-look creases and breaks that form on the surface are features that make each garment different from the next. The pure metal concept has been evolved by Stone Island though the years to create unique garments. With the Pure Meak Shell, the Fall Winter ’999 - ’000 collection saw the introduction of the Stone Island badge with white embroidery, for garments created using advanced research into fabrics and processes.
